What fitness goal are you working towards at MATRIX Personalized Fitness?

The current goals that I am working toward are overall strength and balance in my body and joint mobility – particularly shoulder and hip.

What, in general, does your program at MATRIX PF entail?

Mainly we focus on mobility and using various techniques to help me to better use my muscles and move my body more efficiently.

What 'homework,' if any, are you assigned?

Occasionally Shane will give me various exercises to do at home.  While I admittedly don’t necessarily always do them as prescribed, I take parts of what I learn and integrate them into my activities outside my sessions, at the gym, while running, in yoga, and in life.

What changes have you noticed since starting at MATRIX PF?

Overall, I’m in the best shape of my life!

What would you say to someone else who may be considering signing up at MATRIX PF?

No matter where you are right now, you can benefit from MATRIX.  Walk in with an open mind and start wherever you are. Be ready to approach your fitness from a slightly (or maybe completely) different perspective. Be flexible with your goals and know that if you put in the effort you will absolutely see a world of difference.

What activities can you do now that you couldn’t do before you started at MATRIX PF?

It is more about what I can do “better”.  I can squat deeper, I have a stronger upper body so I can do far more pull-ups.  I have a stronger core that helps with my overall stability.  These are just a few things that illustrate the overall structural integrity, movement efficiency, and overall strength that Shane has helped bring to my body.

What about your workouts at MATRIX PF do you enjoy most?

I love Shane’s hands-on approach. He makes sure I understand what I should be feeling, achieving, and/or activating in every exercise or movement.  He isn’t afraid to pause to explain why we are doing what we’re doing, and make sure it resonates.
